Since our last update, the Government have provided additional information in respect of a variety of schemes which are aimed at supporting businesses during the Coronavirus pandemic. Further details have been clarified in relation to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, the Self Employed Income Support Scheme (which is now live) and also the grant schemes for small businesses and those in the Retail, Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure sectors.

Within Update No. 5, we would like to take the opportunity to draw your attention to important information regarding the recently announced NI Micro Business Hardship Fund and the Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme.
NI Micro-Business Hardship Fund
As mentioned within our last update, the Department for the Economy announced the NI Micro-Business Hardship Fund on 5 May 2020. This scheme is now open for applications and aims to assist those businesses in Northern Ireland who have not been able to access the various regional and national COVID-19 support measures to date. Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) Rebate Scheme
This scheme has been created to repay employers the current rate of SSP for up to 2 weeks, where an employee has been off due to the Coronavirus. For more details on this scheme, please CLICK HERE.
